Back from holidays

Back to work! It is a true blue Wednesday indeed! And I am visiting my mum-in-law after work. What can be worst? Actually it is not so bad nowadays, for I am actually enjoying teasing her, and she enjoyed the attention too. Anyway... grace grace! For the saying goes.

New Work Setting

It is important to be comfortable while you work. This is my new home work setting. Got this computer desk for a long time but not using it. Since my previous desk was broken, I decided to use this computer desk instead. 2 hours of rewiring and repositioning and that is it! A mobile suit! With this new setting, I can move anywhere. I can een reach out to places I couldn't reach in the past. That means, more space!

:)

I am going to write both in English and Chinese. Here's an excerpt from a friend's blog...

Money cannot be permanent all the time. If one needs money to be happy, then this happiness of his would be temporary. He will not taste true happiness in his life because nothing is permanent in this life time.

True happiness and joy comes from God, knowing that He is our eternal provider.

Extreme Japan

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I watched the last episode of Extreme Japan like 2 days ago... how sad that this series was ended. I enjoyed the way the hosts have made the the show so pleasant but funny to watch. In fact the chemistry between Sho and Ericia was so good that it was hard to believe 2 people of vast cultural differences could come together to host a show.

In addition, I luv Japan alot, and extreme Japan has successfully presented Japan and her remote regions other than Tokyo in a nutshell. I love to watch the hosts "suffer" during the extreme gourmet and activities. You should see the way Ericia squirm at the horrible-ness of the strange food types. And eating live octopuss is really extreme!

Goodbye Extreme Japan!

Animation Magazine

Something went wrong... I have posted something earlier on but it din come out...so I have to retype everything again... cut the long story short... this magazine is available at Popular bookshop Marine Parade branch, but I have just bought the last copy ont the shelf.

It is a magazine I was looking for for the past 2 years, and in so doing, failed to subscribe it twice in a roll. It seemed that the admin over at US is reluctant to release it to foreign readers... which was quite strange.

Anyway, there is nothing much in the Jan 2006 issue, unless you are really interested in reading up on Hoodwinked! The fav animation in US presently.

Who could resist these? Not me. They arrived with the Production Diaries! I also found out that these can be bought at Borders too...hmmm...no regrets. I think I bought them cheaper!

King Kong is here

I don't mean the movie of course. I have watched it already. Terrific CG effects and story-telling by Peter Jackson. I was really amazed by how the monkey was animated in such a realistic manner!

What I meant was this - King Kong, Peter Jackson's Production Diaries. I ordered it from Amazona and it arrived today... what a delight!

What's inside: A 2-disc DVD set of production process, 52 paged full colour production memoir and 4 exclusive production art prints, for just $$$.

Find out in Amazon!

Popular Sale

Monster Inc - the art of the disney movie - is going on sale at only $23 at Popular bookshop. Its usual price was $73!

Well I only happened to pass by Marine Parade's Popular (just opposite NTUC Fairprice) and chanced upon this. I bought some other books along with this as well.

There is this other book that I considered a good buy. See below.

"Drawing & Painting Fantasy Beasts". It is only $26. I think it costs more in Basheer (Bras Basah)

My Favourite Book this month

Oxide 2

Artworks by Kim Hyung Tae. A collection of digital illustrations and character design from the year 1999 to 2004. Even though Kim is a Korean, his artworks were published by a Japanese publisher and I think he is much more recognised overseas then his home town.

You can find coloured artworks from "Magnacarta" and "The War Of Genesis III" (never heard of these before, pardon my ignorance on the gaming genre). What I like about this book are, it actually include some pages of tuts of how Kim works, and his sketches too.

You may buy this book from Kinokuniya (Ngee Ann City) and it costs a hefty $56.50. But of course, I have got the membership card that entitles me a 20% discount.
